Prepare Your Auction for Streaming

Get your auction, presentation, devices and streaming setup ready before opening Stream Studio.

Complete these checks before opening Stream Studio to make sure your auction, presentation and streaming setup are ready.

Check Your Auction and Presentation

Step 1: Confirm the correct multi-lot, in-room auction is selected.

Step 2: Confirm the correct auction presentation is selected and contains the required layouts and elements.

Step 3: Confirm any scenes required during the stream have been configured.

Check Your Streaming Setup

Step 1: Confirm Auctions Live Stream Pro is active by checking the Stream Key section for the two icons.

Step 2: Confirm the client's YouTube channel is configured and ready to receive the live stream.

Step 3: If you are unsure whether the streaming setup is enabled, contact your Auctions Live representative.

Prepare Your Devices

Step 1: Connect the required camera, microphone and USB devices before launching Stream Studio.

Step 2: Confirm the computer recognises the camera and microphone and that they are available for selection.

Step 3: Make sure the camera and microphone are not being used by another application.

Step 4: If multiple cameras or microphones are connected, identify the devices you want to use during the auction.

Note

Stream Studio detects the cameras available on your computer and allows you to select the camera you want to use. Once a camera is selected, you can configure how it appears in the stream by cropping, moving, resizing or expanding it to fill the screen.

Depending on your stream display design, you may need to open a bid page through the Control Panel to view the allocated space available for the camera. This can help you position and size the camera correctly within the layout.

Check Your Camera Position

Step 1: Check that the selected presentation layout provides a suitable area for the camera.

Step 2: Confirm the camera will not cover important auction information.

Step 3: Use a relevant bid page through the Control Panel if you need to check the available camera area and position it correctly.

Prepare Your Computer

Step 1: Confirm the computer can comfortably run the auction presentation and Stream Studio.

Step 2: Use two separate monitors where possible, with one for the Control Panel and one for Stream Studio.

Step 3: If required, use separate computers for the auction presentation and Stream Studio.

Final Pre-Stream Check

☐ Confirm the correct auction and presentation are selected.

☐ Confirm Auctions Live Stream Pro and YouTube are ready.

☐ Confirm the required presentation layouts and scenes are configured.

☐ Confirm the camera and microphone are connected and available.

☐ Confirm the devices are not being used by another application.

☐ Confirm the camera has a suitable position within the presentation layout.

☐ Confirm the computer and monitor setup is ready.

Once these checks are complete, open Stream Studio and configure your live stream.

Note

We recommend completing a test run of Stream Studio with all connected devices before your live auction. This allows you to confirm your hardware, software and internet connection are working as expected.

Once you are happy with the setup, you can delete the test Stream Key and generate a new Stream Key for the live auction if required.

Connect your camera, microphone and other required USB devices before opening Stream Studio. This allows your computer and browser to detect the available devices when Stream Studio loads.
