Release Notes: A14.9.c

Estimated Deployment Date: 18 September 2026 ⌛

Enhanced Bid Record Management

Subscribers now have greater control and flexibility when managing bid records associated with their auction listings. Eligible manual bid records can be added, edited and deleted, while online bid records remain protected from modification.

These enhancements provide greater independence when maintaining auction bidding history while introducing safeguards to help preserve the integrity of online bidding activity and final auction outcomes.

Redesigned Bid Records Experience

The Edit Bid Records page has been redesigned with a clearer, more intuitive interface that makes auction bidding activity easier to review and manage.

Summary cards provide key auction information at a glance:

  • Total Records: Displays the total number of bid records associated with the listing.
  • Opening Bid: Displays the opening bid amount recorded for the auction.
  • Highest Bid: Displays the highest bid recorded for the auction.
  • Status: Displays the current status of the auction.

An interactive Bid Records history table is displayed below the summary cards, allowing subscribers to manage eligible manual records directly within the table. Enhanced icons, visual indicators and colour treatments also make important information easier to identify.

Quick Access from Listing View

Bid Records can now be accessed directly from the Quick Stats tab on the Listing View page, providing convenient access to the auction's bidding history without requiring subscribers to navigate through additional pages.

Editable and Protected Bid Records

Subscribers can add, edit and delete eligible manually managed bid records, while system-generated online bidding activity remains protected.

  • Control Panel Bids: Eligible bids recorded through the Control Panel can be managed directly from the Bid Records page.
  • Manually Entered Bids: Subscribers can add and maintain manual bid records where required.
  • Protected Online Bids: Online bid records remain read-only and cannot be edited or deleted.
  • Flexible Record Placement: Manual records can be added before or after existing online bids where permitted, without modifying the online bid records.
  • Controlled Call Signs and Statuses: Manual records use standard predefined Call Signs and Statuses, which cannot be replaced with custom entries.
  • Date and Time Management: Where permitted, the date and time associated with a manual bid record can be updated.

Change History and Revert

A dedicated Change Log provides a record of modifications made to editable bid records, giving subscribers greater visibility over changes to the auction history.

Each change records:

  • Date and Time: When the change was made.
  • User: The user responsible for making the change.
  • Updated Record: Details of the record following the change.
  • Previous Record: A snapshot of the record before it was changed.

Subscribers can review a previous version of an eligible record and revert it to its previous state when required, removing the need to manually recreate the original information.

Bid Record Validation

Validation rules have been introduced to help maintain a consistent and accurate bidding history when manual records are added or edited.

Chronological Order

  • Correct Sequence: Bid records must remain in chronological order.
  • Record Positioning: Added or edited records must maintain the correct position within the bidding history.
  • Matching Date and Time: Records may share the same date and time where permitted, provided the required bidding sequence is maintained.

Bid Amounts

  • Progressive Values: Bid amounts must increase progressively throughout the bidding history.
  • Greater Than Zero: Bid amounts must be greater than zero.
  • Invalid Values: Negative bid amounts and zero-value bids cannot be added.
  • Automatic Validation: Bid amounts are validated whenever an eligible record is added or edited.

Bidder Numbers

  • Numerical Values: Bidder numbers must be numerical.
  • Vendor Bids: Vendor bids may use the designated vendor identifier.
  • Online Bidder Protection: Online bidder numbers cannot be used when creating manual bid records.

Sold Record Protection

Additional safeguards apply when a listing contains a Sold record, protecting the final auction result while still allowing eligible bidding activity before the sale to be maintained.

  • Records Before Sale: New manual bid records can be inserted anywhere before the Sold record, subject to the applicable validation rules.
  • Protected Sold Record: The Sold record cannot be deleted or moved.
  • No Records After Sale: Bid records cannot be added below the Sold record.

Improved Bid Record Management

The enhanced Bid Records experience gives subscribers greater flexibility when maintaining auction records while preserving important controls around online bids and final auction outcomes.

With streamlined manual record management, detailed change history, revert functionality and improved validation, subscribers can maintain an accurate bidding history more efficiently throughout the auction lifecycle.
